New Direction Weight Loss

Frazine Medical Weight Loss offers a medically supervised weight loss program that involves low carbohydrate, high protein meal replacements for all or part of your meals. New Direction products are critical to meeting your nutritional needs and achieving your weight loss goals. The meal replacements provide your body with high-quality protein, which is vital to preserving lean body tissue and protecting the major organs during weight loss. Meal replacements include healthy shakes, puddings, soups, and bars which provide balanced nutrition while helping you to lose weight as quickly as possible in a healthy, sustainable way.

Most people struggle to lose and keep off weight for reasons beyond physical causes. Stress, travel, holidays, family traditions, and habits play into how and why we eat. In addition to weekly weight and progress checks with our supportive staff, required weekly group or one-on-one education sessions help participants learn how to develop healthy habits and patterns making this diet and lifestyle work for them.

The approaches are broken down as follows:
Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD)

This program is generally appropriate for those with 30 or more pounds to lose.With this high protein, low carbohydrate plan, your body will enter a state of nutritional ketosis where it generates energy from fat stores rather than from carbohydrates from food. This allows you to lower your caloric intake without increasing your hunger. This produces more rapid weight loss while protecting lean muscle mass. With this full meal replacement plan, you don’t have to spend time and effort planning your meals. Average weight loss is expected to be 4-7 pounds per week for men and 3-5 pounds per week for women.

Modified Very Low Calorie Diet
This moderately ketogenic plan provides 800-900 calories per day. This is obtained with the combination of meal replacements and one high protein, low carbohydrate meal.
Low-Calorie Diet (LCD)
This non-ketogenic plan provides between 1,100 and 1,200 calories per day using some meal replacements plus one healthy meal including lean protein, vegetable, fruits and dairy. Patients can expect to lose an average of 2-3 pounds per week.

The Thrive Maintenance Program is entered when you’ve reached your ideal weight and are ready to implement everything you’ve learned during your remarkable weight loss journey. You have transitioned away from meal replacements and carefully reintroduced regular grocery store food to your diet. You will have become the hero of your own story! Participants commit to at least 6 months in this maintenance program with tools designed to help prevent weight regain. Our staff supports you as you confront the challenges that have previously lead to weight gain and feelings of no control. Holidays, vacations, birthdays, work trips, and the food attractions that surround us all – this is the time when you navigate those aspects of life while holding on to your health and wellness. Frazine Medical Weight Loss will support you every step of the way with one-on-one sessions, exercise consultations, and body composition evaluations. We help patients expand their motivational and self-monitoring skills, teach you to appreciate your “new self,” encourage an optimistic attitude, and help create personal goals that matter.

We set you up on a personalized Green, Yellow, and Red Zone Safety System to quickly respond if you get off track:

Green Zone:
Your weight has stabilized at your goal weight with only minor fluctuations.  We stay the course and continue to monitor and support you.

Yellow Zone:
Your weight has increased beyond minor fluctuations.  We increase your frequency of visits and refocus on actions to help you return to your goal weight.

Red Zone:
Your weight has increased beyond a predetermined level that requires more aggressive corrective action.  We reactivate weight loss with a more prescribed meal plan and increased use of meal replacements.  Our goal is to get you back on track quickly and avoid the weight regain that may have derailed prior weight loss efforts.
